New vertical strategy for growth stage technology company

Client Situation

The client had worldwide rights to a unique technology they had acquired from a large multinational corporation. In earlier engagements with the client, 3HA had helped the company develop the commercialization strategy for the technology both in the U.S. market and priority international markets. In this engagement, the client wanted to expand their partnership strategy by targeting the utility vertical.

3HA Approach

We addressed 3 critical topics as part of the engagement:

  • Detailed future wireless network requirements and modeled overall demand and capacity available based on current and future use cases. This established the fact that commercially available networks would not be able to fulfill the market demand, both in terms of capacity as well as some of the technical requirements that were unique to the utility vertical
  • Delineated use cases that would help utilities address the security, reliability, and flexibility needed to address evolving needs
  • Helped highlight the unique characteristics of client’s technology and their integrated offering that dovetailed with the specific and unique needs of the utility sector

Outcomes

Our engagement enabled the client to have constructive conversations with many of the leading utilities and advance to designing and executing on proof-of-concepts.
